a week of love in pictures

This past week so many timelines danced together as I started my new job on Monday, honored the 9 year anniversary of losing my Auntie Anne to suicide on Tuesday, celebrated Taj’s birthday the day after and finished the week with an impulsive trip to Door County to keep the birthday/new chapter festivities going!

I knew this week was going to be a big one. My only goal was to stay present to it all, and do my best to take it in. I wrote one simple intention in my planner — celebrate.

We just returned home from our quick trip north. And to be honest, I don’t have a lot of words to share as I reflect on this week. Language doesn’t always do this type of gratitude justice. The magic of this past week is better summed up in photos.

Good food, ice cream cake and laughter filled our home as we celebrated Taj’s birthday. A very significant day after her health challenges this past year. I am forever humbled by the truth that one of the hardest days of my life falls the day before the love of my life’s birthday. A surefire plan for making sure the anniversary is always followed by so much love and joy and celebration.

We skip rocks and soak up the waves and show Taj a place we used to come to as children after brunch at the famous Al Johnsons in Sister Bay. The goats have returned to the roof!

It was a week of magic. Filled to the brim, I’m bringing it all with me into this next week as I move on from orientation week to beginning my new role.
